Two men have been arrested after a traffic stop in the Invercargill suburb of Windsor on Sunday afternoon.
A police spokesperson said police received a report of a firearm being presented “following a fight at an address on St Andrews St earlier in the day”.
The car the men were in was seen travelling in the area by police staff, who signalled for them to stop.
Police found LSD and cannabis within the vehicle and the two men were taken into custody, the spokesperson said.
Subsequently, police used a search warrant at their address and found further LSD and cannabis as well as a firearm.
“The pair are charged with serious drugs and firearms offences and have been remanded in custody.”
They are due to appear at the Invercargill District Court on October 24 and police are continuing inquiries. Further charges are likely.
