Former Labor treasurer Michael Costa says the Authorities must “get on high of immigration” to assist ease inflation.
“The actual concern here’s what the federal authorities is doing, they actually need to get on high of this immigration,” he advised Sky Information host Andrew Bolt.
“I believe that is the truth that is driving all the issues that we’re seeing.
“Albanese actually has to name a summit on this, and take a look at what’s an acceptable degree of immigration given all the availability constraints, notably within the housing market.”
Mr Costa’s feedback echo Immigration Minister Andrew Giles’ warning that Australia wants to interact in a “sober debate” on the stress the surge of abroad arrivals is inserting on the housing disaster.
