Rural Ladies New Zealand (RWNZ) has established a brand new $5,000 grant to help initiatives and initiatives that help rural communities.
Cynthia Collier, who the grant is known as after, lived on Wakarua Station close to Taihape till her passing and was a passionate supporter of her group and the work of RWNZ. October marks her birthday and 2023 marks 10 years since her passing.
“Mum would like to know that she was being remembered by the continued work of individuals like her to construct group, connection and help,” says Cynthia’s daughter, Jo Romanes.
The Cynthia Collier Grant can be awarded yearly for the following three years with the primary grant set to be awarded in mid-2024.
“Ladies like Cynthia are the spine of our rural communities,” says RWNZ nationwide president Gill Naylor.
“We’re delighted that this beneficiant bequest from Cynthia’s household will allow us to honour her reminiscence on this method and help the great work that occurs in our communities day by day,” she says.
Functions for the 2024 grant will open by the tip of November 2023 and shut on 30 April 2024.
The grant provides to an current vary of philanthropic funds administered by RWNZ together with reduction after antagonistic occasions, a variety of instructional grants and bursaries, and group mission grants.
