4 suspected insurgents have been eradicated by troops of 1 Division Nigerian Military (NA) on combating patrol in Birnin Gwari Native Authorities Space of Kaduna State.
The troops additionally rescued eleven kidnapped victims particularly; Zakari Galadima 54 years (male), Ishaku Galadima 50 years (male), Habibu Illaysu 40 years (male), Nuzuli Ibrahim 18 years (male), Ramatu Aliyu 60 years (feminine), Ubaida Mubarak 30 years (feminine), Zaliha Mubarak 9 months (feminine), Umma Haruna 22 years (feminine), Khairatu Salisu 34 years (feminine), Rahamatu Usman 43 years (feminine), Rakiyia Yahaya 24 years.
Appearing Deputy Director Military Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Military, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, disclosed this in a press release on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
In line with the assertion, troops made contact with the insurgents on February 6.
“In the course of the firefight that ensued, troops neutralized 4 insurgents whereas others escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops recovered 3 AK 47 rifles, 7 AK 47 rifle magazines and a pair of bikes,” the assertion learn.
“Equally, troops of the Division deployed at Birnin Gwari acquired a tip-off on insurgents’ motion on 7 February 2024. The troops swiftly moved to intercept the insurgents at Kwaga village. The insurgents who couldn’t face up to the firepower of the troops absconded into the forest in disarray abandoning their victims.
“The troops efficiently rescued all 11 victims particularly; Zakari Galadima 54 years (male), Ishaku Galadima 50 years (male), Habibu Illaysu 40 years (male), Nuzuli Ibrahim 18 years (male), Ramatu Aliyu 60 years (feminine), Ubaida Mubarak 30 years (feminine), Zaliha Mubarak 9 months (feminine), Umma Haruna 22 years (feminine), Khairatu Salisu 34 years (feminine), Rahamatu Usman 43 years (feminine), Rakiyia Yahaya 24 years (feminine) and recovered 1 motorbike”.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victims had been kidnapped on 6 February 2024 from their village at Masuku in Shiroro Native Authorities Space of Niger State.
“The victims had been rendered medical consideration by the medical staff of the Division and reunited with their households.
“The Common Officer Commanding 1 Division NA and Pressure Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH, Maj Gen Valentine Okoro recommended the troops for fulfillment.
“He appealed to most of the people to proceed to avail troops and different safety companies with real-time intelligence.
“He equally appealed to locals to report individuals with gunshot wounds searching for paramedics’ consideration to the troops or different safety companies for immediate motion.”
