Norwegian semisub proprietor Dolphin Drilling has been confirmed because the winner of the Oil India rig tender after submitting the bottom bid for a 14-month agency contract.
The Øystein Stray Spetalen-backed firm has secured a letter of award, topic to a signed last contract. Dayrates haven’t been disclosed.
Dolphin stated earlier the start-up for the drilling marketing campaign could be within the third quarter of 2024.
A deal, which incorporates extension choices for seven months, will see the presently sensible stacked 1977-built and later upgraded Borgland Dolphin reactivated.
Dolphin Drilling owns a fleet of three fourth- and fifth-generation enhanced Aker H3 semis. In June, the corporate snapped up a pair of Transocean rigs, the 1987-built Paul B Loyd Jr and the Transocean Chief, in a deal value $61.5m.
