RCMP in Kelowna, B.C., say police in Montreal assisted them within the arrest of a 36-year-old man on a number of costs of human trafficking.
RCMP say in an announcement that their intercourse crimes unit started an investigation in 2021 and picked up proof resulting in the arrest of Stanley Jean-Baptiste.
Cpl. Tim Russell with the Kelowna RCMP’s susceptible individuals unit says they know town is a part of a circuit utilized by traffickers who exploit individuals for sexual functions.
Police say they’ve collaborated with town, the Kelowna airport and Kelowna Baby Advocacy Centre on an consciousness marketing campaign aimed toward stopping human trafficking and youth sexual exploitation.
RCMP sayย Jean-Baptiste was arrested with the assistance of police in Montreal on Dec. 8.
He’s in custody and is scheduled to be escorted again to Kelowna to face the fees.
