Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested 4 suspects for allegedly stealing six batteries from Airtel Telecommunications mast valued at N12 million.
DAILY POST stories that the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed this in a press release made accessible to newsmen in Benin Metropolis on Sunday.
Nwabuzor recognized the suspects as Otete Emmanuel, Onya Ndubisi, Oliver Sodenyi and Okuru Benedict.
He alleged that the suspects, who wore inexperienced reflective jacket, drove a white Toyota Hilux marked EPE 328 HY and packed at Imorta Filling Station alongside Benin-Agbor Expressway, Benin Metropolis.
He defined that the suspects have been arrested by operatives of Okhuaihe Divisional Police whereas responding to a misery name from the command’s management room.
The command’s picture maker, added that when the suspects’ car was searched and nothing incriminating was recovered from them.
He disclosed that the misery caller, one Robert Daniel who reported the incident on the Okhuaihe Division, nonetheless, confronted the suspects that he noticed them whereas stealing the six batteries.
Nwabuzor mentioned the suspects of their statements denied the allegations and any involvement within the incident.
He mentioned investigation has commenced and the suspects will quickly be transferred to the State Prison Investigation Division Benin for discreet investigation.
