The Israeli death toll could reach 1,000 due to unexpected attacks by Hamas, urges the security minister, who insists that the West should impose new sanctions on Iran, according to Tony Diver’s report.
In an interview with Fox News, Ron Dermer, the Israeli security minister, compares the scale of the attacks on the country’s relatively small population to the events of 9/11.
“If Israel loses over 800 people in a single day, and that number could potentially surpass 1,000, it’s equivalent to about 40,000 Americans,” he states. “That’s like ten 9/11s.”
Mr. Dermer also emphasizes the need for “very, very strong action” against Iran at the UN, following reports that Tehran’s security forces were involved in planning and funding the attack.
“UN Security Council sanctions against Iran should be reinstated,” he insists. “Every effort should be made to enforce oil sanctions against Iran because […] we have evidence of their meetings, the financial support they provided to Hamas, and the supply of weapons. Furthermore, we are aware that they are currently taking actions to ensure multiple fronts attack Israel.”
