December 23, (THEWILL) – The Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC), has fastened February 3, 2024, to conduct reruns and bye-elections throughout the nation.
The Fee’s Nationwide Commissioner and Chairman Info Voter Training Committee, Sam Olumekun, disclosed this on Friday.
Olumekun mentioned the bye-elections resulted from the resignation or loss of life of members of the Nationwide and State Homes of Meeting, including that the vacancies have been declared by the Presiding Officers of the Nationwide Meeting and State Homes of Meeting.
He mentioned the vacancies occurred throughout two Senatorial Districts, 4 Federal Constituencies and three State Constituencies, spanning 9 states of the Federation.
“Moreover, the Fee is conducting re-run elections stemming from the 2023 basic election, as directed by varied Election Petition Enchantment Tribunals.
